It's sunny! To the beach....

Will and I packed up our bags and legged it down to Somerset for some beach action to maximise the fun in the sun.
We stayed at my sister nikkis house in tortoisehead (portishead) and after a bad nights sleep :( set off early doors sunday morning for Weston.
We pitched up at the little beach to the left of the pier and struggled to put up the massive awning thing off my tent- note to self don't ever attempt it again at the beach!!!!
Kids waded in the water, we made a conjoined twin mermaid and sand angels -and played sticky bat and ball!
In all honesty it was way too hot to be comfortable with three small ones and a shelter that kept falling flat, so we had ice creams and headed back to nikkis for fun in the garden.
This turned out to be the best plan ever!
Such fun and so much simpler- we were proud we had made it to the seaside though and made a few special memories on the process xx

Summer summer summer time!

Playing outside and general nakedness with his friends,

and a few shots of our beautiful lakeside picnic by bicycle after work on Friday with Ang and Andy x

Me and wills built a nest from grass cuttings- I used to love doing that as a kid!
it was so beautiful by the waterside in the evening, baby moorhens, ducks, dragonflies and frogs!
Loving the sunshine.. Lets hope it lasts x

For the gp thread a little glimpse of some dodgy holiday snaps that the tent features in!
Sunset one is beautiful though!

Friends

Williams friends are so cool! Literally- they whooped and skipped and jumped around the playground like the squirts of water themselves and laughed and squealed with pure joy at the hilarity of the chase and the cold jets!
This really captures what it is to be a toddler.
Mums and nana laughed ourselves hoarse and enjoyed the sit down with little Thomas.
I wrapped William up in a fleece blanket to dry him and covered him in dirt, forgetting he had previously dragged it around the park- and in a most embarrassing dumb moment said "how did William get so dirty? Maybe some dirt flew up out of the water jets?" Err no, wally- that'll be the filth you are rubbing in to your sons wet skin from the blanket! Durrrrrr!
I'm always coming out with this idiocy on a Monday- think my mind is turned off and I'm too in the moment with the kids to think straight- yeah, that'll do- sounds plausible!
